Lab-on-chip detection of Legionella

Plasmonic-based autOmated lab-on-chip SEnsor for the rapid In-situ Detection of LegiONella (Poseidon)

The objective of the POSEIDON project is to develop a SPR-based biosensing platform for the detection of L. pneumophila bacteria, with high sensitivity and high specificity, translating the results obtained as experimental proof of concept into an operating automated prototype usable in industrially relevant settings and by untrained personnel.

We are workpackage leader for the microfluidics and our focus is on the microfluidic handling; further concentrating a 1 mL sample to a suitable volume and then provide the concentrate to the sensor surface, incubate and rinse the system.

This is a project co-ordinated by the Italian company CLIVET SPA, and funded by the European Commission through Horizon 2020.
