Docent lecture: Shedding Light on new Perovskite solar cell Materials

2019-03-27

The Department of Engineering Sciences hereby invite all interested to a docent (associate professorship) lecture by Dr. Meysam Pazoki in the subject solid state Physics at thursday 11thApril 2019 at 9.00 in room Å4001.

Perovskite solar cell materials have recently gained significant interest for applications in low cost solar cell devices with high efficiencies.  They have been referred to as ‘’The next big thing in photovoltaics’’, where their spectacular physical properties makes them promising candidates for thin film and tandem solar cell applications. In this lecture, the basics, benefits and drawbacks of perovskite solar cell devices are presented as well as  routes for finding new perovskite solar cell materials with enhanced performance will  be presented.

The lecture is an obligatory teaching test for those applying for admittance as docent (associate professor) and it should be possible for students and others with basic academic education in the relevant field to follow the lecture. The lecture will last for 45 minutes and afterwards the audience may ask questions. The lecture will be given in English.
